Literature has always had a strong influence on my art. Dictating a lot of the types of drawing imagery I am interested in. The Concrete Jungle was inspired by the book Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. The idea of an abandoned area left to be retaken by corrupted natural elements interested me. Focusing on looking at what a town might look like in the early stages of abandonment. Sickly green plants cover housing and shops, lingering upon animals and closing in on the street. What pieces of architecture and other human constructions would see the most impact? And how would humans' imprints on this world slowly disintegrate?
